Meditation Singers Circa 1980Sis Wendal, a lovely lady who I met in New Jersey earlier this year and a very good friend of Laura Lee. She often sends me bits & pieces and her latest was a link to 3 videos of Laura singing with the Meditation Singers on Youtube.
If you go to Youtube and search for Meditation Singers then you'll find a B&W clip of video from an early 60's show called Gospel Time - I didn't recognise the song. The other 2 clips are in colour and from 1969. "Oh Lord Have Mercy" features Laura on lead and is a revelation seeing that she had just cut the Chess sides when this was recorded. It was not widely known until recently that Laura had a dual career at this stage in gospel and secular music. The last clip "Lord, I Want You To Help Me" features Ernestine Rundless on lead and can that lady sing!!!!!
