Reverend Cleatus & The Soul Saviours

Rev Cleatus Soul Saviour Stew

Rev Cleatus Cheeba's Couch

Reverand Cleatus and the Soul Saviours Aka Fantastics were formed from the former Soul Destroyers and the Longo All Stars. They are the UK's answer to the Dap Kings or the Dynamics and hark back to my hero Brian Auger's bands dominated by his Hammond organ playing.

The group consists of Greg Boraman - organ and piano; Raydn Hunter - bass; Pete Collison - guitar; James Rule - drums and Mark Norton - horns. They list their influences as The Meters, Jimmy Smith, James Brown, Brian Auger as well as those other glorious contemporary stalwarts of hip grinding funky jazz & soul ... The New Mastersounds, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, The Poets of Rhythm...

What we have are funky guitar over serious bass and drum grooves with a screaming Hammond Organ over the top!

They are about to release their first album and I have included 2 clips. If you want to hear more drop over to their site or their My Space.

Watch out because they might be dropping into a city near you soon!
